zaat · Terms of service
Effective 7 September 2026 · Zaat
The short version
This summary is accurate, and it is not a substitute for the sections below — those are what we are actually held to.
These terms are between you and Zaat(“we”, “us”) — the company and the product share a name. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use zaat.
Our privacy policy is part of this agreement and explains what we do with your data.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. You may only use zaat for yourself. It is a model of one person, and that person is the one holding the account.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not use zaat to build a profile of someone else — see section 6.
zaat produces hypotheses about you. Every claim it makes carries an explicit confidence value, the evidence behind it, and a way for you to reject it. That is a deliberate design decision, not a hedge: a claim is a data structure that can be wrong, be corrected, and be shown to have changed.
It follows that the model will sometimes be wrong about you, and that this is a normal and expected state rather than a defect. It is also why it shows you its calibration — how often it is right when it says it is 70% sure — and why it can go backwards when the evidence stops supporting something it used to believe.
What it is not, and none of these is a formality:
If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or crisis line. zaat is not built for that and will not be.
Your content is yours. Everything you tell zaat, everything we read from a source you connected, and everything the model derives about you — you own all of it. We claim no ownership of any of it.
You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, process, and display your content back to you, and to have our service providers (listed in the privacy policy) process it on our instructions. That permission exists to operate zaat and for nothing else. It ends when you delete your account.
We do not use your content to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s, and we do not sell it. You can export all of it at any time.
When you connect a source — a Google account, a file, an export — you confirm that it is yours, or that you are otherwise entitled to give us access to it. Do not connect an account belonging to someone else.
Our access to connected sources is read-only. You can disconnect any source at any time, on its own, and doing so removes the evidence it produced and recalculates the model without it.
Connected sources contain other people’s words. We treat them as evidence about you, never as the start of a model of anyone else, and we never present claims about the people in your data. You agree not to try to use zaat to do so either.
zaat is in early access. It is free while it is, features will change, and some things will break. We will tell you honestly what state it is in rather than pretending otherwise.
If we introduce paid plans, we will not start charging you for something you are already using without telling you first and giving you a real choice.
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and background work — the model thinking about new evidence — may take time to complete.
You can leave whenever you want. Deleting your account starts a 30-day period that exists so you can export your data first, after which everything is permanently destroyed, including the key that decrypts it. Cancel during those 30 days with one click, no reason required.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Except where the law prevents it, we will tell you why and give you the chance to export your data first — the same 30 days.
If we ever shut zaat down, we will give you notice and time to export everything before anything is deleted.
zaat is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the model’s claims and predictions about you will be accurate — which, as section 4 says, they sometimes will not be.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you by email before the change takes effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can export your data and close your account.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law.
